2024 Honda Rebel 1100 First Look Preview

Oct. 21 2023 News By Andrew Cherney

Honda has announced the return of both the Rebel 1100 as well as its touring variant, the 1100T, to its European lineup for 2024, with no changes except for this new Glint Wave Blue hue.

Except for all the pumpkin spice nonsense clogging up our favorite java joints, we’re usually pretty stoked this time of year, since it brings a flood of model announcements from motorcycle makers. This year’s been particularly flush for Honda, which is continuing its rollout of returning models for 2024 with the CMX1100 Rebel and the touring-biased CMX1100T Rebel. Neither bike gets mechanical changes or significant updates, just fresh contemporary colors for the new year, and while the release is specific to the European market, it’s fair to assume these two popular models will be coming back to the US line next year as well.

Editor’s note: We’ve reported on the Rebel 1100 during the 2021 Honda Rebel 1100 MC Commute Review and Is Honda’s 2021 Rebel 1100 DCT Cruiser a Modern Sportster? articles and videos. We encourage readers to take a peek at this premium editorial.

The bike we know here as the Rebel 1100 and the CMX1100 over there retains the neo-bobber styling that’s made it so popular, with a stripped-down look and feel that hides its true capability.

Because under those mild-mannered externals you’ll find a ripping, 80 hp 1,084cc parallel twin-cylinder engine tuned for superstrong bottom and midrange torque, which we found “rambunctious enough to put a smile on your face,” in our MC Commute review. It’s popular across the pond as well, with sales strong enough to put behind only its smaller cousin, the Rebel 500, in the custom bike segment of the 2023 European sales chart.

With mid-mount controls, throttle-by-wire, easy handling, adjustable engine power, and traction control as well as a DCT transmission option, the biggest Rebel still offers a lot of bang for the buck—though there was no pricing information included on the release. For 2024, the only thing new on the CMX1100 Rebel are two fresh “contemporary” color options: Glint Wave Blue Metallic and Iridium Gray Metallic.

The touring-oriented 2024 Honda CMX1100T Rebel in Gunmetal Black Metallic also returns unchanged save for new bronze wheels to add contrast to the darkness.

The CMX1100T version of the Rebel—the touring-duty variant introduced last year featuring a broad aerodynamic half fairing and hard saddlebags for long-distance adventures—also gains a new look with the Gunmetal Black Metallic color scheme now offset by a pair of new bronze wheels.

Both bikes are set to hit dealerships across Europe in early 2024, and we expect to see American Honda making more returning model announcements later this year.
