Alex Sanchez - V1 MOTO Team spotlight
Alex Sanchez
Periodically we will spotlight a member of our team so that you may know us a little when you come in. This time it's Alex Sanchesz and we chose these questions just for him.
1. Mr. Sanchez, please tell the folks what you do at V1 MOTO.
Assistant Manager, Ducati Certified Technician, and V1 MOTO Racing Team Technician.
2. You were actually working with Carlos before V1 MOTO at V1 Performance. What was your specialty there?
I've worked with Carlos for many years. We started at Eximport Cycles back in 2000 we worked there together for many years. After Carlos left Eximport I stayed there for a few more years, but we always dreamed of having our own shop. So, after many chats and discussions, in 2016 we finally decided to take the challenge and open our first motorcycle shop - V1 Performance. Our shop started to grow rapidly, and we were getting busier and busier. So when Carlos found out Northwest Honda was closing their doors, we decided to take it over and really go for the big dream. So here we are now as V1 Moto.
3. Man, seems like those skills would come in handy at V1 MOTO. Can you tell us some of your racing history and other qualifications/certifications?
Yes, my certifications include: Ducati, BMW, Aprilia, Triumph, Honda, Yamaha, and Kawasaki. I have been working 31 years on motorcycles as certified technician. Also, I was the lead tech for a team in MotoAmerica.
4. As Assistant Manager, you probably wear a lot of hats and have a lot of responsibility. What department do you spend most of your time in?
Being in the industry for so many years, I have learned many different aspects of the business, from sales, parts, and service. At V1 initially, I was at the front counter assisting the parts and service dept in making sure everything runs smoothly. However, sometimes as an assistant manager, you have to wear many different hats, so I do whatever it takes. At the moment, the parts counter needs the most help, so I was there to take care of our customers. Right now, I’m putting my 30+ years of tech experience to good use in our service dept. I am going to be there working on bikes full time, which is how I started and is one of the things I love to do the most!
5. And finally, there are two Alex’s that work at V1 MOTO – in fact, you guys sometimes work side-by-side. Rumor has it that you guys are actually twins. Is that true?
Hahahaha yes, right. Alex Rios and I also have been working together for many years. We have a great working relationship, so many customers think we are brothers. In Spanish I am actually known as Alé and he is Alex, lol.
Alex's favorite bike is the Ducati Hypermotard SP, check out all of our Hypers here.
