Preview: 2024 Honda SCL500 w/ New Color

The 2024 Honda SCL500 in the latest Matte Black Metallic color.

To recap the machine a bit, the SCL makes use of Honda’s popular 471cc parallel twin, featured in streetbikes like the Rebel 500, CB500F, and CBR500R. It sports a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear wheel configuration, high-set dual exhaust pipes, a long flat seat, and a minimalist aesthetic that all lend to the scrambler appeal of the machine.

Mechanically, it’s a straight-forward bike, as you might expect from a machine that will undoubtedly have strong new-rider appeal. ABS is standard as is a slip and assist clutch to help smooth out downshifts and lighten clutch pull. An LCD instrument panel is simple but effective, and spring-preload adjustment at the rear shocks adds a nice opportunity to customize the feel of the bike on road. There are no pesky electronic rider aids to fuss with at this stage of the game.

With the addition of the new color, riders will now be able to select between the aforementioned black and the returning Candy Orange or Matte Laurel Green Metallic.
